Ginny Parsons has promised to serve her heavenly cookies from 3 PM to 5 PM during the presentation of her work on June 14, 2025 at the K Gallery in the Rhythmix Cultural Works center in Alameda.

An intuitive artist, Parsons works with common household materials like bacon grease and peanut butter. Her cookies and her art are NOT to be missed! So, if one or the other interests you, come to experience both!

Tomorrow, Saturday, August 13, 2022, for the first time ever, the delightful and whimsical work by Tom White entitled, Zoe, will be presented at the K Gallery in the Rhythmix Cultural Works located in Alameda.

There will be a reception for the opening from 3 to 5 PM. Ginny Parsons has friends who will bring "Garden Gatherings" they will set up on tables outside in the courtyard; she has also engaged Emmett Kotapish to perform on the piano there as well.

Zoe is one of several "sculptures" Tom has made in a series he calls, Summer Fireplace Screens. 1950 Vogue Fashion is a beautiful sample of the series (link below).

You can meet Zoe from August to October in a major showing of Drawn & Quartered (link below), the new series by Tom White.

The delightful and also whimsical work by Ginny Parsons will be showing as well; they have a similarity in their take on "Art".

Rhythmix ~ Radical Beauty Part 8

~

Yesterday the Rhythmix Cultural Works (link below) presented the 8th event in its series, Radical Beauty.

Although it was smaller in scope than previous Beauties, there were no dancers, there was art and the music played was HOT!

Papiba and Friends provided Brazilian funk, Taller Bombalele came in with its Puerto Rican Bomba,   the Combo Sabroso West played some hot rhythms with congas and Christelle Durandy crooned smooth Afro-Latin Jazz with her boys backing her up. Somehow, I missed Randy and the Gypsy Boys, however.

There was something for everyone, an area for kids to do art of whatever kind they wanted and cookies to help them do it.

On Park Street in Alameda chairs were set up on the sidewalk and there was a knitting nook, yep, you didn't read it wrong, a genuine knitting nook!

Of course there was art! There has to be art in anything Rhythmix does. This time it was provided by Jessica Eastburn, Deborah Sullivan (link below) and Danielle Giudici Wallis.

Rhythmix ~ Radical Beauty Part 7

~

Photos by Styrous®

Once again the Rhythmix Cultural Works (link below) entertained the people of Alameda with its presentation of Radical Beauty Part 7 last month. The event featured great food, excellent musicians and terrific dancers.

Dance performances were staged by several groups. The Hālau Makana Hawaiian dancers were accompanied by its music group. The Bay Area Children's Theatre, a children’s theater company also called the Seele Stars, entertained the crowd. The Ballet Folklorico had adorable young girls and beautiful women in spirited dance routines and gorgeous costumes.

Music was performed by Andre Thierry and Zydeco Magic and the China’s Spirit Music Ensemble. Somehow I missed the zydeco group.

Chocolate reigned supreme with stands by Craft Chocolate and Hot Chocolate for Peace, both small businesses in Alameda.

Art was not ignored. There were art installations by Susan Brady, Hopi Breton, Josie Iselin, Sophie Lee and Bay Farm Elementary School (Ginny Parsons with Michele Kuttner’s 2nd Grade Class).
