Tom White ~ Zoe debuts @ the K Gallery
Tomorrow, Saturday, August 13, 2022, for the first time ever, the delightful and whimsical work by Tom White entitled, Zoe, will be presented at the K Gallery in the Rhythmix Cultural Works located in Alameda.
There
will be a reception for the opening from 3 to 5 PM. Ginny
Parsons has friends who
will bring "Garden Gatherings" they will set up on tables outside in the
courtyard; she has also engaged Emmett Kotapish to perform on the piano there as well.
Zoe is one of several "sculptures" Tom has made in a series he calls, Summer Fireplace Screens. 1950 Vogue Fashion is a beautiful sample of the series (link below).
So
come, see fun and fantastic art, gnosh a little, hear some good music and meet
Ginny, Tom and especially Zoe; you won't regret it
It will make for a pretty dynamic exhibition!

Rhythmix ~ Radical Beauty Part 8
Although it was smaller in scope than previous Beauties, there were no dancers, there was art and the music played was HOT!
Papiba and Friends provided Brazilian funk, Taller Bombalele came in with its Puerto Rican Bomba, the Combo Sabroso West played some hot rhythms with congas and Christelle Durandy crooned smooth Afro-Latin Jazz with her boys backing her up. Somehow, I missed Randy and the Gypsy Boys, however.
There was something for everyone, an area for kids to do art of whatever kind they wanted and cookies to help them do it.

Rhythmix ~ Radical Beauty Part 7
Dance performances were staged by several groups. The Hālau Makana Hawaiian dancers were accompanied by its music group. The Bay Area Children's Theatre, a children’s theater company also called the Seele Stars, entertained the crowd. The Ballet Folklorico had adorable young girls and beautiful women in spirited dance routines and gorgeous costumes.
Music was performed by Andre Thierry and Zydeco Magic and the China’s Spirit Music Ensemble. Somehow I missed the zydeco group.
Chocolate reigned supreme with stands by Craft Chocolate and Hot Chocolate for Peace, both small businesses in Alameda.
Art was not ignored. There were art installations by Susan Brady, Hopi Breton, Josie Iselin, Sophie Lee and Bay Farm Elementary School (Ginny Parsons with Michele Kuttner’s 2nd Grade Class).
