Today I attended a performance of the Butoh Dance group, Sankai Juku, under the direction of choreographer Amagatsu Ushio. The show, UMUSUNA (Memories Before History), featured very simple and elegant staging. The music used was by Takashi Kato, Yaz-Kaz and Yoichiro Yoshikawa which ranged from soft and gentile to dramatic (link to performances on YouTube below).
