One of my immortals (link below), Robert Redford died today. I recall the first time I was aware of him; I had no idea who he was and it was only years later that I found out it was him. It was an episode of The Twilight Zone in 1962, he was just starting his career and he portrayed Death in the guise of a cop. He asks an old woman who is afraid of dying, "Am I really so bad? Am I really so frightening? Come, take my hand" He was stunningly handsome and totally charming!

There are two films of his that are my favorite, both in 1973. The first at the beginning of his devastating good looks, The Way We Were and the second, when he plays a mountain man in the movie, Jeremiah Johnson (links below).

The Way We Were also had one of the most beautiful tunes ever, the title song The Way We Were, written by Alan and Marilyn BergmanMarvin Hamlisch and brilliantly sung by Barbra Streisand (link below).
