On September 17th, 1956, the Brenda Lee single Jambalaya was released. It was her first single.
I don't remember the first time I heard Brenda sing the Hank Williams song Jambalaya, but I do remember her delightfully squeaky voice belting out the tune.
There is a video of her performing the song during the original Cactus Theater production of Minnie's Pearls in Lubbock, Texas (link below). She is backed by the Lubbock Texas Rhythm Machine with an intro by Porter Wagoner, aka Kurt Kiser.
