Wayne Coyne

Wayne Michael Coyne
was born on January 13, 1961. He is an American musician, experimental
sound designer and a genius. He is the lead singer, occasional backing
vocalist, guitarist, theremin player and songwriter for the group, the Flaming Lips (link below).
He with his group recorded the avant-garde CD, Zaireeka, which was an outcome of his "parking lot" experiments. I bought and performed the exercise recommended for the playing of the CD (I describe it as "performing" as it is not the traditional form of playing/enjoying music) with varying degrees of success and had a fun time in the attempt (link below).
On December 20, 2018, he and his group, the Flaming Lips, released their cover of David Bowie and the Bing Crosby classic carol Peace on Earth/Little Drummer Boy, originally recorded in 1977 and released in 1982 (links below).
Wayne Coyne usually performs his trademark "boy in the bubble" antics during his concerts but it appears it may have been detrimental for him as it may have weakened his immune system. However, I suspect this may just be a publicity angle (link below) as witness the article on the NME (link below).

U2 lead singer Bono
had pledged to help raise awareness about Coyne’s condition. “I myself
was once trapped inside a gigantic lemon, so naturally, I wanted to
help,” said Bono. “I tried to raise money with a We Are the World-style
single. But Wayne insisted the song be released on 12 different CDs
that need to be played simultaneously. Needless to say, it didn’t earn
dick shit.”
