Last night a miracle occurred. The Gray Loft Gallery celebrated its tenth year of existence. The miracle is very few art galleries last ten years. Not only that, the gallery does not have a street front presence; it is hidden away on the third floor of a warehouse building.
The longevity of the gallery is owed to the perseverance, hard work and sheer determination of its creator, photographer Jan Watten.
The celebration coincided with the opening of its latest exhibition, The Love Show. The title was in deference to the opening of the gallery ten years earlier with its inaugural exhibition by the same name (link below). Both shows featured dozens of artists of every aspect of art. Not only were those artists there but many of the people who have supported the gallery all these many years. It was a grand celebration.
