Eddie Van Halen was the main songwriter and guitarist of the American rock band Van Halen, which he co-founded in 1972 with his brother, drummer Alex Van Halen, bassist Mark Stone, and singer David Lee Roth. Van Halen is regarded as one of the all-time greatest guitar players in rock history and was well known for popularizing the tapping guitar solo technique, allowing rapid arpeggios to be played with two hands on the fretboard.
Looney Tunes is the very first recording issued by the group Van Halen. The music on this EP is from their first album that came out later. It is a promo for DJs and a special issue on red vinyl. There is a terrific video on YouTube (link below) of the history of the recording as well as the logo that was used.

Eddie Van Halen was born on January 26, 1955, in Amsterdam, Netherlands. In a world of fantastic guitarists, he was quite possibly the greatest
one of them all. It was jaw-dropping to listen to him play. The second
track on the first side of Looney Tunes, Eruption, will
more than attest to that. There is a video of a longer concert version
of it as well as a 1983 guitar solo that absolutely are astonishing on
YouTube (links below).

One of my favorite cuts is, Ice Cream Man, written by John Brim, which starts out with a quiet vocal/guitar duet by David Lee Roth then goes into a fast hard drive rocking by the Eddie Van Halen undeniable guitar sound.
You Really Got Me is a pretty straight forward hard rock song written by Ray Davies for English rock band the Kinks. The song originally was performed in a more blues-oriented style and was inspired by artists such as Lead Belly and Big Bill Broonzy. Van Halen performed it in the hardest of rock.
Eddie Van Halen struggled with alcoholism and drug abuse. He began smoking and
drinking at the age of 12, and he stated that he eventually needed
alcohol to function. He was hospitalized in 2019 after battling throat cancer
over the previous five years, and his ex-wife Valerie Bertinelli also
mentioned a battle with lung cancer in an Instagram post shortly after
his death. He died of a stroke at Saint John's Health Center in Santa Monica, California on October 6, 2020, at the age of 65 (link below).
