Fats Domino ~ 1987 Lifetime Achievement Award

On February 24, 1987, Fats Domino received a Lifetime Achievement Award at the 29th annual Grammy Awards. It was two days before his birthday; what a great birthday present.

Three weeks later, school children from the Frikkemas School in Sneek, northern Netherlands, vied with each other for singer Domino's signature after he arrived at Schiphol airport in Amsterdam on March 13, 1987.

Thirty years later, Fats Domino died from natural causes on October 24, 2017, at his home in Harvey, Louisiana; he was 89 years old.
