Oscar Brand was a Canadian-born American folk singer whose music ran the gamut from novelty songs to serious social commentary. I said in his profile page (link below) his music was not for everyone.

Bawdy Songs & Backroom Ballads Vol 2 fits snugly into the novelty songs category. And bawdy is a perfect description of the songs. There is nothing subtle nor discrete about them; Mae West would definitely NOT have approved (link below).

He wrote the song, A Gob Is a Slob, which is a story of a girl of dubious virtue! In 1951 it was recorded by Ella Fitzgerald under the title, A Guy Is a Guy; and in 1952 Doris Day recorded it with the same title. In both versions the story is WAY cleaned up!!!! (link below)
