Tomorrow night, Wednesday, November 18, 2020, at 7:30pm (eastern) / 4:30pm (pacific), Pamela Z will present a live streaming concert of solo works for voice and electronics, followed by moderated discussion.

I saw her perform in the Garden of Memory event at The Chapel of the Chimes columbarium in Oakland, California during the 2013 Solstice Concerts in Oakland; it was an exciting event (link below). Many sound artists performed that day, Juraj Kojs, Karen Stackpole, Dean Santomieri, who I've had the fortune of seeing perform many times, and Katrina Wreede with whom I performed during the Visual Concert at Strings in November of 2009.

Pamela Z is a composer/performer and media artist making works for voice, electronic processing, samples, gesture activated MIDI controllers, and video. She has toured throughout the US, Europe, and Japan. Her work has been presented at venues and exhibitions including Bang on a Can (NY), the Japan Interlink Festival, Other Minds (SF), the Venice Biennale, and the Dakar Biennale. She has composed scores for dance, film, and chamber ensembles (including Kronos Quartet and Eighth Blackbird). Her awards include the Rome Prize, United States Artists, the Guggenheim, Doris Duke Artist Impact Award, Robert Rauschenberg Foundation, and the Herb Alpert Award.

The event is Sponsored by Douglass Residential College and the Music Department of Mason Gross and will be held on Zoom. Registration is required. You can register for the concert HERE.
