Please join us for a block party celebration in Jingletown – one of Oakland’s hottest art districts! This event is in celebration of a new mural created in collaboration with Dragon School 99 artists. Explore converted warehouses and live/work loft spaces and get to know the artists, musicians and creative people who call Jingletown home. This is an area of Oakland with a rich history and many stories to tell, from Portuguese and Azorean laborers, Chicano civil rights activists, musicians and artists – all of whom have shaped the development of this unique pocket of East Oakland.

About the Walking Tour
Take a walking tour with local cultural translator and Oakland creative, Jena Dominique of StreetSalad.Co. Explore Jingletown through its beautiful public art, artifacts, postcards, and storytelling. Get a different perspective on what has shaped this neighborhood, and the people who live there now. Visit art galleries including Gray Loft Gallery, Factory 44 West, Jingletown Art Studios & Gallery and studios of a number of working artists in the neighborhood.  Spend some time learning about Jingletown mosaics and murals like "Rue de Merde" at the Peterson Street Community Mural.  And finally, meet some of the artists who created the brand new DragonSchool99 Jingletown Mural!
