45 RPMs 21: Pink Floyd ~ The Wall: Music from the Film & the The Ides of March

Somehow, this seems the perfect time to do an entry about a wall and divisiveness. The Ides of March (Latin: Idus Martiae, Late Latin: Idus Martii), is a day on the Roman calendar that corresponds to the 15th of March. The day was marked by several religious observances and was notable for the Romans as a deadline for settling debts. In 44 BC, it became notorious as the date of the assassination of Julius Caesar when he was stabbed to death at a meeting of the Senate. It made the Ides of March a turning point in Roman history.
