Yesterday, Saturday, September 10, 2022, Tom White greeted vistors to the K Gallery where his new work, Drawn & Quartered (link to info below) is being presented until October 29, 2022.

The visitors varied in age and occupation and came from everywhere, not only the bay area but as far as Barcelona, España.

Helping Tom with his work was his studio assistant, Isaac Amala and his friend, Abel Soto Díaz. The three of them had been in the Night Vision exhibition at the Gray Loft Gallery which had closed last weekend (link below).

Esther Hilsenrad had also presented her jewelry art in the Night Vision exhibition and she came to kibbitz and play with Tom (photo at top); here she is below checking out Secrets and Journal.

Audrey Daniels, another jewelry designer, came to see what was going on with Tom's new work; they are both graduates of Cranbrook Academy of Art in Bloomfield Hills, Michigan.

Mie Preckler, Professor Emeritus of the California College of the Arts and Crafts (now CCA) who taught with Tom there, came to see what Tom was up to.

Kate Rittmann, decades-long patron of the work of Tom and champion of the beautiful art deco Orinda Theater, came to see his new work and was fascinated with the tumbler series (link below), in particular, Rockin' the Boat.

Isaac was more than happy to give a demonstration to Katie as to how the tumblers work . . .

. . . and of course, the stars at the opening of the exhibition, Drawn, Quartered, Repurposed, Ginny Parsons & Tom!

Drawn, Quartered, Repurposed is a two for one experience that makes for a pretty dynamic exhibition. Leave it to the Rhythmix Cultural Works to set up a doozy of a show like this!

So, remember, tomorrow, Saturday, September 10, from 1 to 3 PM at the K Gallery.
