Libby Schaaf has been Mayor of Oakland, California, since January
2015; a member of Oakland City Council for four years; has served on the board
of directors of advisory boards of 12 Oakland non-profits and was
appointed to three Oakland commissions. She has worked as an attorney from 1992
to 1995 practicing employment law and doing products liability
litigation; she co-founded the non-profit, Oakland Cares, which did volunteer
community improvement projects across the city.
