Suzy Barnard ~ Uncharted Waters

Last month I rode down to Palo Alto where I caught the exhibition by Suzy Barnard, Unchared Waters, showing at the Bryant Street Gallery.

Suzy's beautiful impressionist studies of ships, mostly freighters, has captivated me for years. They are intriguing and spellbinding.

Her new work (below and at top) has gone on to a more abstract mode that is as beautiful as her previous work but without having a solid image of a ship, they reference her earlier work and you can almost see the ship that is not there. Wonderful! Wonderful!
