Beemer memory 25: Hangin' out at the Hungry i

~
I was rummaging through a dusty box of photographs and came across a bunch of old photos I'd forgotten from my biker days. At the time I was dancing with Pillow (links below) in the late 70's at the Hungry i on Broadway in North Beach. One is the only photo I have that was shot while performing the "Love Act" with her. Two are by photographer, Daniel Nicoletta (link below), one of Ben (link below) with R2-D2 and one was taken while back stage by Pillow herself.

The theme of one of the "sets" Pillow and I had for our "Love Act" was based on the Star Wars film. She was Princess Leia (buns 'n all) and I was Darth Vader (breathing heavily). Ben made his version of R2-D2 for the act with flashing lights and it moved around. The robot would be on stage as we performed the set and in the dim light it was effective.

20,000 Vinyl LPs 119: The Story Of Star Wars picture disc

The latest installment of the Star Wars saga, Star Wars: The Last Jedi, premiered last night, December 9, 2017, in Hollywood with enormous fanfare as well as a tribute to Carrie Fisher

Shrine Auditorium, Los Angeles, California
December 9, 2017

So, it's time to break out another Star Wars item of mine to mark this event; what I've chosen is the Star Wars (soundtrack) picture disc for they are coming back. Picture discs are notoriously famous for the inferior sound quality compared to the traditional black vinyl version but they are a lot of fun and I collected any I found.

The Star Wars (soundtrack) vinyl LP picture disc actually not only has the original score soundtrack but also dialogue from scenes from the film as well. It's pretty cool

It is interesting that Star Wars: The Last Jedi, has generated a resurgence of Star Wars on picture disc with the issue of the new soundtrack (no dialogue) and new images (links below).
