Today is the birthday of Jaye P. Morgan an American popular music singer and actress who was born in Mancos in Montezuma County in southwestern Colorado. She had quite a few hit singles (link below) my favorite of them is Pepper-Hot Baby.

Pepper-Hot Baby
is the epitome of be-bop à la 50's jazz vocal; fast, bouncy and peppy
(pun intended) with lots of input by Joe Thomas And His Orchestra.

The "B" side, If You Don't Want My Love,
is a slow and pensive song that tells it like it is: "Put up or hit the
road, I've got other irons in the fire."
